Community engagement through volunteerism and charitable giving in Singapore has continued to be strong. The national volunteerism rate has grown steadily to 32.3% in 2012, and $970 million was donated to Institutions of a Public Character in 2013. More people are also participating in grassroots activities and courses, which help foster community bonding.
