David is the CEO of the National Youth Council (NYC) and Chairman of the *SCAPE Board. His responsibilities include expanding developmental opportunities and aspirational pathways for young Singaporeans, while ensuring equal and fair access to these networks. He also carries out youth research and tracks youth trends and well-being indicators to sharpen the impact of youth programmes.

As the father of 4 kids, David envisions Somerset Belt to be a space where they and their peers will have ownership of – one that is dynamic, vibrant and supports quirky ideas and programmes by youths. He also hopes that the Somerset Belt project will be a lasting manifestation of an enduring partnership between the Government and young Singaporeans.
