05 October 2019 , 12 PM – 11 PM

Youths passionate about the environment came together to explore ways to create a more environmentally-friendly Singapore.

More than 70 youths attended Session 1 of the Youth Action Challenge (Environment) at the Singapore Sustainability Academy.

During the session, participants heard from representatives from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) on how Singapore employs a strategy of climate resilience to deal with the challenges of climate change, as well as Mr Heng Li Seng from Green Nudge on his experience as a youth in the sustainability sector.

Participants then brainstormed problem statements in three broad areas:

  • (ii) reducing plastic, food and general waste; and
  • (iii) the role of policy, technology and businesses in reducing emissions and creating greener solutions.
