Mr Patrick Tay: To ask the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth when will the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals be set up and made operational.

Response

Minister Lawrence Wong: The Community Disputes Resolution Bill was passed in Parliament on 13 Mar 2015. It was mentioned that the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals would be ready in the second half of the year. This is developing according to plan. The implementation details and the subsidiary legislation, such as the Rules of Court, are currently being worked out by the relevant agencies. We expect the Community Disputes Resolution Tribunals to be ready by end October 2015.
