Lawrence Wong: All the best to Team Singapore at Commonwealth Games!

Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong will be in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 – 25 July 2014 to cheer Team Singapore athletes for the 20th Commonwealth Games 2014.
Minister heads to Glasgow, Scotland to support some 70 athletes at the 20th edition of the Games
Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong will be in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 – 25 July 2014 to cheer Team Singapore athletes for the 20th Commonwealth Games 2014. Singapore will be fielding a contingent of 70 athletes to compete in seven sports, led by Chef de Mission Mr Low Teo Ping. The Commonwealth Games will be held from 23 July – 3 August 2014.
While in Glasgow, Mr Wong will be attending the Opening Ceremony where he will witness the Team Singapore Contingent march-in led by flag bearer, gymnast Lim Heem Wei. Some of the competition events which Mr Wong is expected to attend include badminton, table tennis, gymnastics and swimming. Mr Wong will also be visiting the Singaporean athletes at the Athletes’ Village where they are staying.
Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Sam Tan, will also be heading to Glasgow to attend the Games from 25 – 28 July 2014. He will be attending various events including shooting and athletics events ,to boost the morale of our Team Singapore athletes.
Mr Wong and Mr Tan will be accompanied by MCCY’s Deputy Secretary (Community, Youth and Sport), Mr Hugh Lim, and other officials from MCCY.
