Minister Lawrence Wong to visit London from 1 – 3 September 2014

This visit is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the cultural cooperation between Singapore and the United Kingdom.

  1. Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong will be visiting London from 1 – 3 Sep 2014. This visit is part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the cultural cooperation between Singapore and the United Kingdom.

  2. During the visit, Mr Wong will also witness the signing of an inaugural Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Singapore’s National Heritage Board and the British Museum. This MOU will enable both institutions to intensify cultural cooperation and exchanges.

  3. Mr Wong will also meet leaders from the UK’s leading cultural agencies. These institutions include the Arts Council England, the British Library and the Saatchi Gallery, a contemporary art museum. In addition, Mr Wong will be attending the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s debut performance at the 120th BBC Proms, on 2 September 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall.

  4. Mr Wong will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Arts Council and the National Heritage Board.
