Minister of State Sam Tan visits France for close of Singapour en France – le Festival, 15 – 19 June 2015

Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Sam Tan will be visiting Paris and Lyon, France from 15 – 19 June 2015.
Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Sam Tan will be visiting Paris and Lyon, France from 15 – 19 June 2015. Mr Tan, who is also the Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office, will take the opportunity to reaffirm strong cultural relations between France and Singapore.
During his visit, Mr Tan will host an appreciation reception for partners who have lent their support to the three-month long Singapour en France – le festival. The festival toured across different parts of France, with more than 250 artists sharing with locals more about Singapore’s arts and heritage. The Singapore Symphony Orchestra Children’s Choir will also perform at the reception, ahead of their debut concert at the Philharmonie de Paris.
Mr Tan will also be officiating the opening of DesignSingapore Council’s exhibition 1000 Singapores: Eight Points of the Compact City at the Cite de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine.
During the trip, Mr Tan will also witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Gallery Singapore and Centre Pompidou. Following which, he will meet students from Temasek Polytechnic who will be cooking our signature Singapore hawker dishes at the Saveurs de Singapour sur les Berges de Seine, a Singapore street hawker event that is part of the Singapour en France – le festival.
Mr Tan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, National Heritage Board, National Arts Council and National Gallery Singapore.
