More Singaporeans supported arts and cultural events in 2018, according to the 2019 Singapore Cultural Statistics (SCS).

More Singaporeans supported arts and cultural events in 2018, according to the 2019 Singapore Cultural Statistics (SCS). The 2019 SCS shows that the following were achieved in 2018:

  • Attendance at arts and cultural events hit a record high of 13.6 million
  • 2.2 million attendance at ticketed events
  • All-time high attendance of 11.4 million at non-ticketed events
  • Contributions to arts and culture amounting to an average of $86 million per year between 2014 and 2018, compared to $58 million per year between 2009-2013

Performing arts refer to folk, traditional, classical and contemporary forms of dance, music (pop/rock concerts included) and theatre. Ticketed attendance refers to attendance at performing arts events that require a ticket for entry. It includes tickets sold and complimentary tickets issued.
