Mr Tan said: “Our Team Singapore para-athletes have been training hard and are in good form. Most of them are debutants at the Asian Games, and I have heard from many of them that they are very excited and cannot wait to be part of the Games to do Singapore proud. I am confident that they will be flying our national flag high at the Asian Games.”
Ms Low said: “Our para-athletes embody the qualities of hope, courage and determination. They are proof that the odds can be overcome. They inspire us towards achieving boundless possibilities. We support their athletic endeavours and strive to create an environment of inclusivity and opportunities for their success in sports — and in life.”
While in Incheon, Mr Tan and Ms Low will be cheering the Team Singapore athletes at various sporting events, and visiting the Singaporean athletes at the Athletes Village where they are staying.
The Incheon Asian Para Games is the second edition of the Games. At the inaugural edition held in 2010, in Guangzhou, China, Singapore was represented by a contingent of 46 athletes and officials. Team Singapore won four bronzes – two from Swimming and two from Ten Pin Bowling.
