Response to parliamentary question on financial accounts of the 2015 South East Asian Games

Mr Chen Show Mao: To ask the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth (a) whether the statement of accounts and financial statements of the 2015 South East Asian Games will be disclosed to the public; (b) if so, when and, if not, why not; and (c) whether there are any net gains or deficits incurred by the 2015 SEA Games 2015 and, if so, what are they.

Response

Minister Grace Fu: The income and expenditure for the organisation of the 28th Southeast Asian Games have been included in the Annual Financial Statements of the Sport Singapore Annual Reports over Financial Years 2013, 2014 and 2015. These have been independently audited and made public. The net cost was $60.4M below the budgeted $324.5M announced in January 2015.
